ABOUT THIS FACILITY
Astromar's Mundra FTWZ is a Government-notified free trade warehouse zone in mundra operating within Adani Ports and SEZ (APSEZ) — India's largest commercial port by cargo volume. Spanning more than 13,000 hectares of integrated port, SEZ, and logistics infrastructure, this apsez warehouse gives importers, exporters, and re-export operators a scale of operation unmatched anywhere else in India. That scale makes Mundra a natural fit for businesses running multi-node supply chains across containers, bulk, and FMCG categories, not just single-shipment storage.
Mundra Port handles 155+ million tonnes annually across 7 container terminals with 6+ million TEU capacity. With 16–17m draft, the port accommodates ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs) and capesize bulkers, providing direct liner services to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The Mundra Port Railway connects directly to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), enabling efficient rail freight to Delhi, Ludhiana, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad ICDs. Beyond international liner services, Mundra also functions as a key domestic coastal shipping hub, with regular vessel connections southward to Paradip and Haldia on India's east coast.
As a fully-operational ftwz in mundra, Astromar provides duty-deferred storage ideal for re-export, consolidation, and multi-modal distribution. Combined with specialised ocean freight services and on-site customs clearance, importers achieve maximum supply chain efficiency under the full FTWZ benefit stack.
Mundra serves businesses operating across containers, bulk commodities, chemicals, petrochemicals, automotive parts, energy resources, and FMCG categories. With multi-cargo capabilities, integrated port operations, and a strategic position for Middle East and Africa trade lanes, this Gujarat FTWZ delivers custom bonded warehousing in mundra at a scale unmatched anywhere else in India.

CONNECTIVITY
Mundra Port is India's largest commercial port by volume, handling 155+ million tonnes annually with direct liner services to the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Americas. The integrated APSEZ — spanning 13,000+ hectares — combines port operations, SEZ benefits, and logistics infrastructure in one complex. Direct DFC rail connectivity to North India and competitive port charges versus JNPA make Mundra the preferred gateway for high-volume, multi-cargo international operations.
Mundra's multi-cargo capabilities cover: containerised goods across 7 container terminals; bulk commodities (coal, iron ore, fertilizers, agri-products); chemicals and petrochemicals; automotive parts and vehicles (Ro-Ro terminal); energy resources (LNG, crude); FMCG and consumer goods. The FTWZ supports all these cargo categories with appropriate storage zones, including ambient, climate-controlled, and hazmat-compliant compartments.
Mundra offers three advantages for North India trade: (1) Direct DFC rail connectivity with high-speed freight transit to Delhi NCR; (2) Lower port charges compared to JNPA terminals; (3) Larger scale and capacity reducing congestion risks. For pure containerised cargo destined for Mumbai/Pune markets, JNPA remains optimal. For multi-cargo operations or North India distribution, Mundra typically offers better economics.
Standard bonded warehousing within APSEZ allows duty-deferred storage but typically with 1-year limits and restricted activities. The Astromar FTWZ at Mundra offers storage for up to 3 years (extendable to 5 years with special permission), broader permitted activities under SEZ Act 2005 (including CKD/SKD assembly, repacking, relabelling, and re-export), full duty and GST deferral, and 5-year income tax exemption on re-export profits — making it ideal for high-volume international traders and consolidators.
